Position Description:

The research associate will contribute to the Phase Change Heat Transfer : From Fundamentals to Design within Department of Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Toledo. The research associate will conduct scholarly work related to heat transfer that will involve independent research and working in collaboration with graduate students, faculty, technical staff on the enhanced heat transfer applications through multiscale novel surfaces, i.e prototype heat exchangers, pool boiling set-up for improved process efficiencies in various engineering applications.

Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:

+ BS in Mechanical Engineering required

Communication and other skills:

+ Excellent oral and writing scientific and technical writing

+ Problem solving, trouble shooting

+ Working with and interacting with faculty (10%), external clients/collaborators (5%), and graduate or undergraduate research assistants in the lab (85%).

+ Develop ideas for research and help in writing proposals, technical reports, and presentation to present the research at technical conferences.

Working Conditions:
