Child Life Specialist I
Inova Health System's Fair Oaks Hospital s is seeking a Certified Child Life Specialist to join our team providing safe and therapeutic Child Life services in a holistic and systematic way to patients and families in our Emergency Department located in Fairfax, VA. This position is full time and will work 4 10-hour days a week 12pm - 10pm with every other weekend required.

Job Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Provides Child Life services for all pediatric patients, sibling/family support and interventions. Provides one on one support and helps patients cope with stresses of hospitalization.
- Develops individual program of activities. Makes clinical decisions in collaboration with healthcare team based on theoretical knowledge and baseline clinical experience measured by patient satisfaction scores, length of stay data and the Child Life database.
- Assists in establishing policies/procedure, goals, and a statement of purpose. Assists in facilitating the utilization of community groups, entertainment, celebrity visitors and public relations program within the community.
Requirements for consideration: - A minimum of a Bachelor's degree
- Must either possess Child Life Certification or be eligible to sit for the Child Life Council Certification Exam upon hire
