Park Aerospace Corp. located in Newton KS is hiring Production Operators:
1st or 2nd Shift
Full-Time and Part-time
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Sets up production lines to treat composite fabrics with resin (final product - prepreg) per written customer specifications.
* Monitors material in process for potential quality defects.
* Labels material, packages, and stores in freezer.
* Labels and disposes of hazardous waste, solvents and non-hazardous waste.
* Performs routine cleaning of equipment and work area.
* Reports all safety issues to lead, shift supervisor or EH&S.
EDUCATION, PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE, SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
* High School diploma or equivalent is required.
* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English so that others will understand is required.
* Must be able to follow written instructions in English and possess good basic math skills.
* Accurate computer entry skills are required.
* A minimum of one to two years' experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
* Experience working in a chemical environment is preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Ability to visually observe details at close range and at a distance (annual vision exam is required).
* Ability to lift product/supplies up to 50 pounds occasionally or frequently.
* Ability to move about with frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and crouching.
* Ability to grasp and move objects.
* Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout a 12-hour shift.
* Ability to work in an environment with some exposure to chemicals and hazards, which require following safety precautions.
* Ability to wear a full-face respirator, safety shoes, safety glasses, and a Tyvek suit.
* Must pass a pre-employment background check, physical examination, and drug test.
