**Custodian -Day Shift**

**Schedule:** Full Time. Sunday - Thursday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30pm. Weekends on call rotation. Location: Village of Boys Town (near 132nd and Dodge St.)
**Responsibilities:**
Performs general cleaning duties and monitors maintenance conditions.
* Sweeps, mops, strips, seals, finishes, and buffs floors; vacuums, pre-spots, and cleans carpets and upholstered surfaces.
* Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and showers.
* Maintains an uncluttered environment; identifies and reports possible safety hazards.
* Closes buildings at the end of the day to ensure security.
* Washes windows; disposes of waste and litter; removes marks from walls.
* Performs routine maintenance, including replaces light bulbs, etc., and reports maintenance conditions to supervisor in a timely manner.
* Supervises and trains student workers as needed.
Serves as a role model in carrying out the Father Flanagan's Boys' Home mission.
* Directs all activities towards the fulfillment of the Boys Town mission o Directs all actions to reflect the values and principles of Boys Town.
* Establishes and maintains an environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and ethical behavior.
* Maintains regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
* Supports other members of the management team and their work.
* Other Duties: This job description incorporates the essential functions and duties required for this position. However, other duties may be required and assigned at times and as determined by a supervisor in order to meet the needs of the organization.
**Required Qualifications:**
* High school or equivalent preferred.
* Previous custodial experience preferred.
Physical Requirements And Equipment Usage: Position requires constant physical activity often exerting 30 to 50 pounds of force, walking, scrubbing, bending, reaching, and pushing machinery.

A National Historic Landmark since 1985, the Village of Boys Town is now the only National Historic Landmark District in Nebraska.
