**Salary:** $11-16/hour depending on experience, not benefits or leave eligible

**Location:** Riverbend Park, 8700 Potomac Hills Street, Great Falls, VA 22066

**Hours:** This is a temporary seasonal position, May-September and may not exceed 900 hours per calendar year. Hours vary and **will include weekend and holiday work.** Morning and/or evening work required. Schedules 15-35 hours/week depending on experience and weather/boating operations.

**Duties:** Operate Riverbend parks boat rental operation which includes kayaks and canoes. Monitor river activity for visitor safety. Assist with river rescues as needed. Inspect boat rental and safety equipment, maintain marina area, and operate park patrol boat. Perform safety and security tasks, including monitor visitor safety, answer visitor questions, and ensure marina regulation compliance.

**Qualifications:** Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to high school graduation or a G.E.D. issued by a state Department of Education. Must be eligible to work in Virginia, possess a Social Security card, and have access to reliable transportation. Must be physically able to lift 50 pounds. Ability to traverse rough, uneven, muddy terrain. Ability to spend extended periods of time standing, walking, lifting, cleaning. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to communicate boating information effectively. This is a physically demanding job and staff must be able to complete all duties. **Preferred Qualifications**: Canoeing, kayaking or boating experience. Virginia Boating license. Experience driving a trailer. Training will be provided for the right candidate. **Certificates and Licenses Required:** Motor vehicle operators license with good driving record. First Aid/CPR/AED certification must be completed within 2 weeks of hire (may be provided by Fairfax Co.). All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption **prior to their start date**. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs will still be subject to the weekly testing requirement.
