Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Project Landscape Architect to join its collaborative team in Arlington, VA. This individual will serve a key function in leading and performing the planning, designing, and permitting of landscape architecture and, land development projects located in the District of Columbia and Washington metropolitan area. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of assignments including urban revitalization and streetscape, community design, retail and commercial site planning, healthcare and university campus design, rooftop gardens, green infrastructure, and brownfield redevelopment. You will partner closely with an interdisciplinary staff of engineers and other professionals in our Arlington office, as well as support landscape architectural projects originating out of Langan's Philadelphia and Princeton offices.

Job Responsibilities

+ Assist discipline leadership with the planning, design and permitting of landscape architecture, civil engineering, land development and planning projects;

+ Coordinate and work with staff to prepare site work cost estimates and zoning analyses; determine the feasibility of projects based on the analysis of collected data;

+ Write and review draft reports, including feasibility studies, proposals and technical specifications;

+ Plan, schedule and develop task and project budgets. Prepare progress reports and draft change orders;

+ Perform and manage multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines; minimize write-offs by keeping projects on budget;

+ Provide direct oversight and management of Staff and Senior staff for specific project assignments;

+ Mentor, train, encourage, and motivate staff;

+ Remain current on landscape architecture practices, guidelines, regulations, and best management practices and attend internal and external training to expand knowledge and skills; and

+ Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture;

+ 6+ years prior related experience;

+ Landscape Architecture license in good standing or pursuing licensure;

+ Due to the nature of our federal government projects, US citizenship is a client mandated requirement;

+ LEED AP or similar sustainable accreditation preferred;

+ Experience preparing and organizing construction documentation for complex projects.

+ Possess creative and exceptional technical skills in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; 3D modeling and Lumion experience preferred;

+ Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills;

+ Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment; and

+ Possess reliable transportation to access job sites and a valid driver's license in good standing.
