Education, Training & Experience
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
- Wood Manufacturing Experience Preferred.
- Ability to read tape measure in millimeters and understand dimensional tolerancing.
Responsibilities - Comply with all Safety requirements.
- Follow standardized packing methods to meet customer requirements.
- Follow standardized packing methods to protect products during shipment.
- Work with minimum supervision in a high-volume, high-pressure environment to ensure product is packed securely and shipped on time.
- Frequently lift component packs and finished drawers weighing up to 50 lbs. to package and prepare for shipping.
- Shrink wrap, box, strap, and/or stack product on pallets based on customer packaging requirements.
- Successfully use computer workstation to weigh and label product and select proper shipment method.
- Verify that products are always shipped to the proper location.
- Perform various machine operator tasks as directed by supervision when wrap line volumes are low.
- Read and understand shipping reports and Production breakdown paperwork, then execute customer requirements for packing and shipping.
- Record keeping of production output.
- Pull hardware such as drawer slides to be packed together with drawer components when required by the customer.
Expectations: - Inspect product prior to packaging to catch any missing machining's or defects.
- Products shipped to correct location.
- Products packaged properly.
- Keep line caught up and work overtime as needed to ensure shipments go out on time to customers (sometimes with short notice).
- Other tasks as assigned (machine operator) must meet criteria standard specifications in the areas of quality and output.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Comply with break and lunch times.
