Janitor
Division:Facilities FTE1.0 Summary Core Responsibilities
* Performs daily cleaning duties including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, dusting and vacuuming at medical and dental clinic(s), pharmacies, administrative office(s), WIC office(s), WPHS office and other special use areas.
* Cleans up spills that occur during the day according to established procedures.
* Identifies and repairs facility and building safety hazards that may occur on a daily basis.
* Ensures compliance with policies and procedures for daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly cleaning schedules (see attachment).
* Performs minor facility repairs and light maintenance duties.
* Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and to prevent damage to floors, fixtures, and other ICHS property.
* Routinely inventories cleaning and maintenance supplies and equipment and orders replacement stock for cleaning and maintenance duties in a timely and accurate manner utilizing approved requisition procedures
* Assists contractors performing repairs and/or renovations to ICHS sites, as necessary.
* Escorts staff to vehicles when requested.
* Loads, unloads, and properly and timely distributes supplies, furniture, and equipment, either manually or by using hand trucks.
* Notifies supervisor concerning the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems. Reports needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring outside vendor services.
* Sets up, arranges, and removes decorations, tables, chairs, to prepare for events such as banquets and meetings.
* Maintains janitor closet, facilities, and janitorial equipment in a clean and safe operating condition.
* Follows organizational policies and procedures for hazardous material handling, bloodborne pathogens, and other safety and health policies and procedures.
Position Requirements **Education -** High School or GED Equivalence.
**Experience -** One to three years experience performing janitorial duties in a commercial setting preferred.
**Other Requirement(s)** - Current WA State Drivers license.
