As a Mental Health Nurse working within the team at HMP Leedsyou will work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensiveassessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options. You willundertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumaticexperiences and may be distressed. You will assess patient s health needs using an evidence basedframework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge.
You will ensure that you a
ssess physical and mental health of prisoners on admission to the prison and throughout their period of custody so that any appropriate referral can be made. You will also be responsible for making a clinical judgement with regard to any immediate need and long term treatment.
What you'll be doingYou will be a qualified Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with a real passion for developing your clinical skills in an environment that is ever changing. You ll have a flexible approach working within a team that encourage new ideas and opinions on how to improve the service.

You ll receive an annual salary up to 46,200per annum - depending on experience.
