Job Summary

We are searching for a Law Enforcement Officer -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will patrol, guard, and protect the assets, staff, patients, and visitors of the hospital, functioning in this capacity as an off-duty Houston Police Department Officer or Supervisor.

Responsibilities

* Patrols the physical assets of the hospital to maintain maximum security and ejects persons from the premises when appropriate

* Stands guard post in the Emergency Room to protect the assets, staff, patients, and visitors

* Creates security reports on the appropriate software and files Houston Police Department reports when necessary

* Provides security escorts for staff and money transfers

Qualifications

* Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children's, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.

* High school diploma or equivalent required

* Texas Driver's License that is current or able to obtain prior to start date required

* Active status as a law enforcement officer for a public agency required

* Valid peace officer commission with the Houston Police Department required
