Production Tech 1 - 1st Shift


Job Details

POSITION SUMMARY:

Perform a variety of general labor tasks including but not limited to visual inspection, measurement, gaging, stacking, deburring, sanding, lifting and moving materials, assisting in the operation of machinery and equipment, and other activities in a helping or assisting mode.

Work from specific verbal or written instructions and standard operating practices to perform operations at assigned area(s) (gaging, stacking, deburring, etc.)

Understand and meet or exceed production standards (quality and quantity) for area(s) assigned

Provide feedback/suggestions for improvement on work instructions and processes

Recognize variations from proper equipment/machine performance and seek corrective assistance when other than normal adjustments are required

Recognize trends in data (run charts, distribution charts, etc.) that indicate product quality concerns and seek corrective assistance when other than normal adjustments are required

Use 5S standards to maintain an organized and clean workplace at all times.

Perform all tasks within safety protocols including recognizing and reporting any unsafe conditions to a supervisor, lead, or other management representative immediately

Maintain accurate records and logs as required

Accurate data entry in to company ERP system

Use of inspection microscope for visual inspection of product to ensure quality requirements are met

Use of micrometer and caliper for product measurement to ensure quality requirements are met

Load and unload parts, and move materials within the plant by carrying, pushing, rolling or operating material handling equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge of various tools, equipment and materials used in production preferred

Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

Acute attention to detail

Computer skills - basic data entry to enter daily production

Effective English language skills - both written and verbal

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percentages. Experience in statistical analysis.

READING SKILLS:

Ability to read, write and comprehend materials in English.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply 'common sense' understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. The employee is required to collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee spends most of their time on the production floor where temperatures may be warm in summer months and cool in winter months; dust is present.

Employees are responsible for wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for the job.
