Maintenance Technician
Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School is searching for a Maintenance Technician to join the team. This position will report to Facilities Director and will work with the team to troubleshoot issues, resolve minor facilities issues and upkeep of all buildings. A successful candidate should be a team player, career oriented, reliable & accountable with a willingness to learn. Proactive & responsible with the ability to inspect the property and recognize & address issues before they arise while conducting themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities to Include:

  • Regularly update your direct supervisor of overall building conditions, especially but not limited to the building system malfunctions (elevator, boiler, standpipe, etc.).
  • Oversee the day-to-day (inspection; walk the building for leaks, damages, etc) mechanical maintenance, grounds keeping, interior and exterior maintenance, custodial, and housekeeping functions to ensure the prompt and efficient maintenance, repair and servicing of equipment and facilities.
  • Interface with staff regarding their maintenance and housekeeping needs.
  • Response to emergencies to ensure safe building operations.
  • Sidewalk cleaning, snow shoveling, back of house and common area cleaning, etc.
  • Ensuring trash removal and maintaining trash areas are organized and buildings are clean at all times.
  • Conduct periodic site inspections to monitor building operations.
  • Performance of daily building maintenance such as but not limited to garbage, plumbing, pest control.
  • Painting and plastering as needed.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Maintaining daily records of work performed.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2-3 years property, maintenance, and construction experience.
  • Must be able to work overtime hours if needed.
  • Must be able to communicate well with teachers and colleagues
  • Extremely dependable and reliable, must be flexible to work during emergency situations.
Work Hours
Work hours will be 7am-3pm for the first three probationary months, after that normal hours will be from 8am-4pm

Salary
The salary for this position is $25.00 per hour
