Job Purpose
The Accounting Student Intern should expect to learn multiple facets of accounting related processes in a large, public company. This can include but not limited to the payable and receivable functions, internal auditing, sales and use tax and financial reporting. The student intern will leave this position with valuable skills and industry knowledge.

Key Job Elements
Preparation and entry of a variety of journal entries (standard entries, accruals, etc.);
Assist with preparation and analysis of financial statements and supporting reports;
Perform balance sheet analysis, reconcile various general ledger accounts and maintain supporting documentation for multiple legal entities;
Support software system for financial reporting;
Perform data entry of Accounts Payable invoices in an accurate and timely manner;
Communicate with internal and external customers on Accounts Payable inquiries;
Ensure compliance with department standards;
Follow established accounting principles and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience with Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
Problem solving skills and analytical thinking;
Ability to work independently and also contribute in a team environment;
Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
Good Interpersonal and communication skills;
Strong ability to multi-task.
