The Spark! Mobile puppet team is an important part of our community outreach, offering original live performances all summer long. The team writes their own original scripts based on relevant weekly themes with a variety of fun characters. We visit 15 parks a week and reach hundreds of community members. The team also teaches 3 weeks of Spark! Puppet Camp over summer for kids ages 8-11 (July 8-11; July 29-August 1; August 5-8; 1:30pm - 4:30pm).

Summer Program Team Leaders work June through August, and have flexible daytime, weeknight, and evening hours with some weekend opportunities. Work anywhere from 12 to 36 hours per week. Required staff training begins June 10 - 13.

Essential Position Functions
In this job you will:
- Lead a great team of summer program staff
- Plan, lead, and supervise summer activities for children and youth
- Work with all kids to promote learning and fun in safe environment
- Organize the set up and take down of program materials and equipment
- Request supplies and materials as needed
- Answer questions and provide information to parents, camp partners, and members of the public
- Keep supervisor informed of any concerns related to the program
- Administer basic first aid as needed - Training provided!
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications What is needed to apply for this job?
- Job seekers should be age 17 or older or have one year of experience with the Eagan Parks & Recreation Department

- One year of college coursework in recreation, education, social services, arts or closely related setting
- Have worked in a youth program setting before
- CPR and First Aid Certifications
- Completed concession training (Training is available on-line at
- Knowledge of Eagan Parks and Recreation Department and its programs
