ASRC Federal Communications is seeing a Electrician for our ISS2 contact supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located on Wake Island. It's a rotational position in which the selected employee will work a schedule of 3 months on the island and on month off unpaid, Wake Island is 2,100 miles away from HNL. While working on-site housing is provided in the form of a dormitory facility. All meals are furnished through the cafeteria.
Essential Duties & Job Functions
* Responsible for installation and construction with some maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment
* Knowledge of the proper use of standard wire, conduit, fittings and hardware commonly found in industrial plants.
* Read and understand conduit drawings, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
* Responsible for use and care of the tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction, including but not limited to:
* hydraulic/electric benders,
* knockout punch sets,
* cable puller, meggers,
* hi-pot equipment,
* volt meters,
* multi-testers
* ammeter
* Set and coordinate over-current protective devices, size feeder circuits and basic understanding to work on systems across the island.
Minimum Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED
* Valid Journeyman Electrician's License
* Two years of experience as a Journeyman electrician.
* Knowledge of principles and practices of safety management
* Strong MS Office and other computer skills
* Knowledge of pertinent local, state and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules
* Ability to speak, write and read English.
* Must have state drives licenses and an acceptable record.
* Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
* Candidates must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred
* Remote location work experience
* Confined Space training
* Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and painting.
