ICI Services is an Employee-Owned Company providing Engineering & Integration, Systems Acquisition, Information Warfare, and In-Service Sustainment support to government customers. We are seeking a Principal Naval Architect to support our Navy customer in Washington, DC.

Security Clearance:

* Applicant must be eligible to hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET personnel security clearance.

Position/Job Description:

General Tasking Description:

* The Contractor shall provide engineering/technical support for concept studies; feasibility studies; preliminary design activities; contract design activities; detail design and construction activities; independent design reviews; In-service ship design and engineering activities; shipboard installation support; and special studies related to ships/boats/craft, ship systems and/or shipboard equipment. The Contractor shall provide naval architecture, marine engineering, electrical engineering, and in-depth engineering support for the Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E); Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I); and mission equipment and systems installed aboard ships, boats, craft and targets, including Combat Logistics Force (CLF), Special Mission Ships, and FMS assets.

* Participate in the PMS 325 Team, focusing on design-oriented evaluations of Military Sea Lift Command Vessels, including assessing current configurations, ensuring safety compliance, and facilitating training. Engage in creating work items and cost estimations, provide support during shipyard inspections, and guide necessary design modifications.

* Engage in the creation and refinement of AutoCAD drawings, conducting structural design calculations to innovate and integrate new systems. Identify cutting-edge equipment and technologies tailored to fulfill client specifications.

* Direct support to Government T-AO Ship Design Manager (SDM).

* Foster collaboration within the design team to drive project success through collective expertise.

* Conduct critical evaluations of design outputs, ensuring they meet the highest standards of precision and functionality.

* Author comprehensive operating manuals, instructions, and test protocols for shipboard equipment, prioritizing usability, and technical accuracy.

* Undertake thorough reviews and updates of Safety Management System protocols, leveraging design thinking to enhance safety measures.

* Conduct detailed ship evaluations for the purpose of design-centric modifications, troubleshooting, and the modernization of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. Define structural design criteria for seamless shipboard equipment installation and replacement, ensuring design coherence and operational integrity.

Experience Requirements:

* 10+ years DoD/Navy program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management.

* DoD/DoN procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process); Military Sealift Command procedures and processes; Supervisory experience; experience communicating with SES/Flag level personnel; ship building experience desired.

Educational & Certification Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering.

* Master's degree in engineering. Preferred

* Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering Preferred.

* Professional Engineer License Preferred.
