Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:Demonstrated ability in AutoCAD, Excel, and WordThe ability to provide detailed material and labor cost estimatesProficient in reading and understanding RFP documents, contract specifications, technology, architectural and electrical drawingsThe ability to review any local, state, and federal codes and interpret these codes as related to the projectCommunicates with department (Sales/Operations) personnel to understand and define the project scope for integrationMeet with client to determine needs and formulate design. Complete site evaluation to determine client requirements and design specificationsPrepare engineering analysis of project to include initial system design through various phases of engineering review to final system design, calculations, and integration documentationInterpret and prepare blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical construction specificationsManage engineering project schedule, propose changes to project, material selection and overall project costsCreate drawings for Security systems including line diagrams, facility floor plans, elevations, sections, panel details, rack elevations, and all other drawings required for successful project completion and coordinationCreate the final bill of materials for the final system designBasic Qualifications:Knowledge of modern LSS system designDesign and provide cost estimates for Access control, CCTV and Intrusion SystemsDevelop bill of materials, battery calculations, and sequence of operationsCoordinate engineering deliverable schedule with project managerPrepare design documents, specifications, and drawings required for design/build projectsSurvey existing LSS systems and provide detailed upgrade or replacement informationCommunicate effectively both verbally and in writing, ability to make technical presentations. This includes interfacing effectively with customers, peers, and executive level managementExcellent organization and planning skills, able to set priorities to accomplish tasksAbility to execute results against deadlinesAbility to solve technical problems, make recommendations and provide solutionsKnowledge of general construction and the construction processKnowledge of IP network design and architecture2D drafting in AutoCAD for architectural coordination and system interconnectionHigh level abilities in MS Office Suite, specifically, MS Excel, MS WordPreferred Qualifications:Perform cost estimating of CCTV, Access Control & Intrusion Detection SystemsManage the design process, create material list and project scope documentsSurvey existing security systems and provide detailed upgrade or replacement informationCreate submittal packages of designed systemsCreate drawings, including floor plans, details, and elevations using AutoCADCoordinate engineering deliverable schedules with project stakeholdersPrepare design documents, specifications and drawings required for design/build projectsDemonstrated ability in AutoCAD, Excel, and WordThe ability to provide detailed material and labor cost estimates
