Financial Advisor Business Consultant
Job Description
Required Qualifications:
- Practice Management & Business Development experience in the financial services industry
- Sales background (client facing)
- Operations background
- Strong listening and consulting skills
- Systems oriented with attention to detail while having a strong sales mentality
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Nice to have: M&A experience
Time Allotment:
- 75% of time will be focused on Surge s practice management or Next s M&A consulting
- 25% of time on project management for Tip Of The Triangle (TOT) program and Business Development projects
- Some overnight travel will be required
Consultant Responsibilities:
- Create training related to practice management and M&A
- Create presentations for live events, webinars, podcasts, and the recorded video library
- Present at live advisor events
- Post social media content regularly
- Conduct consulting calls with advisors on topics related to Practice Management and M&A. Topics may include:
- Strategic planning to assist in defining where the advisor wants to take their firm
- Tactical planning and implementation to accomplish their strategy
- Partnerships
- Associate Advisors when to hire, compensation, roles, training, recruiting
- Technology hardware and software use, recommendations, and integration
- Staffing compensation, benefits, responsibilities, development, career pathing
- Organizational structure
- Team communications and culture
- Leadership skills and techniques
- Real estate
- Processes sales process, tasks delegation, client review process, clients onboarding process, financial planning, CRM usage, phones, filing and document storage, etc.
- Client segmentation and client service model
- Advisory boards
- Succession and continuity planning
- Firm acquisitions and sales
- Time management and work/life balance
- Work with different FIG divisions to understand the full menu of resources available at FIG. This knowledge will be used to make tactical recommendations for advisors
- Perform Surge Business Consulting visits to advisor offices which will begin the Discovery Process of their one year consulting engagement
- Participate in FIG advisor recruiting activities such as Home Office Visits
