C - Lecture - $1,272.00 per credit

D - Recitation: Discussion/Seminar - $1,272.00 per credit

E - Laboratory/Career and Technical - $1,387.00 per credit

F1 - Laboratory: Academic - $1,531.00 per credit

F2 - Laboratory: Academic - $1,734.00 per credit

G - Physical Education/Recreation Courses - $1,531.00 per credit

H - Studio: Art - $1,531.00 per credit

J - Studio: Music - $1,628.00 per credit

L2 - Clinical or Internship Instructor On-Site - $1,531.00 per credit

L3 - Clinical or Internship Rad Tech - $2,985.00 per credit

L4 - Clinical or Internship Nursing - $3,119.00 - $3,464.00 per credit based on employee's highest applicable degree

M2 - Clinical or Internship Instructor On-Site - $1,531.00 per credit

M3 - Clinical or Internship Nursing and/or Nurse Aide (Health/Nurse Aide) - $2,079.00 - $2,309.00 per credit, based on employee's highest applicable degree

In certain instances, due to low enrollment, instructors payment will be based on part-time per credit pay and pro-rated on a 10% per student basis.

Part-time employees also receive some benefits depending on the number of hours worked.

Job Description:

Conduct assignments and co-curricular college activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and purposes of Aims Community College as stated in the school catalog. The primary purpose of the faculty member is to teach.

Job Duties:

1. Teach all levels of Horticulture, Soil Science and Crop Science courses. Be

able to interact with students to provide opportunities to learn, create conditions that facilitate learning, and using techniques and methods that create a high probability that learning will occur.

2. Instructional Design Skills provide instruction that is current, relevant, and utilizes Learn-by-doing instructional techniques and resources this includes technical skills in designing, sequencing, and presenting experiences which promote student learning, and designing, developing, and implementing tools and procedures and procedures for assessing student-learning.

3. Provide effective and high-quality Horticulture, Soil Science and Crop Science instruction using a variety of approaches.

4. Participate in institutional and departmental recruitment and retention activities.

5. Assist in program and curriculum review, revision, and development for the Agricultural Sciences and Technology department and be in compliance with the Common Course Numbering System.

6. Evidence of ability to maintain positive and professional interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration.

7. Evidence of ability to work as a team member with a genuine spirit of cooperation and flexibility.

8. A willingness to take classes in teaching methods, curriculum development, assessment, or other coursework deemed necessary by the department chair or academic dean.

9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Agricultural Sciences and Technology department chair or academic dean.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Master's degree or higher in Horticulture, Soil Science, Crop Science, or a related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.

2. Must have, or be eligible for, a Colorado Vocational Credential in Horticulture, at the post-secondary level issued by Aims Community

College, CTE director.

3. This will require at least two years (4,000 hours) of approved experience in Horticulture, Soil Science and/or Crop Science. The preference is 8,000 - 10,000 hours of work experience or a combination of work and teaching experience.

4. Ability to teach evening courses, weekend, online, and/or multiple campus sites.

5. Ability to coordinate curriculum presented in a distance learning format. Currently, the college utilizes Desire to Learn Course Management software.

6. A commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy including a sincere belief that each individual should be allowed an opportunity to succeed regardless of past experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Previous teaching experience in Horticulture, Soil Science and/or Crop Science.

2. Three+ years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level, including experience working with adult and non-traditional learners.
