RedStone Construction Group is currently accepting applications for a Construction Laborer wanting to advance their construction career. The ideal candidate will be able to operate and maintain various machines, load and unload frequently heavy materials, and follow directions from supervisors and other skilled tradesmen.
This is a safety sensitive position.
Key Responsibilities:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
* Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy/highway construction projects; performs manual work in preparing surfaces for paving.
* Shovels bituminous concrete (asphalt) into construction areas.
* Assists in patching asphalt with hot and cold mix.
* Excavates and fills trenches and ditches.
* Maintains a clean job site - picking up all tools and equipment and securing job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
* Performs materials handling and storage.
* Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.
* May operate various types of heavy equipment with direct supervision.
* May be required to drive a company vehicle.
* Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, safety director or HR manager.
Position Requirements:
* Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
* Ability to work in all weather.
* Workers must be punctual and reliable.
* Must have experience as a general laborer in the construction industry.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
* Work environment is consistent of an office and facility with construction equipment inventory and repair/service shop and may also include construction job site.
* Noise levels can be loud.
* Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
* Safety training required; PPE required outside of office/parking lot area.
* PPE must comply with site specific requirements.
* Occasional lifting may be required up to 75 lbs.
* Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping.
* Working hours var due to job necessity, at least 45 hours per week.
Job Type: Full-time, Hourly
Compensation:
* Starting at $15.75 per hour.
