THE OPPORTUNITY

The Diversifiers Strategy Investment Director (ID) will be a member of a global team which is responsible for 1) identifying trends related to investing in hedge fund strategies; 2) identifying and conducting research on high-quality investment firms and products in hedge funds; 3) monitoring firms that are investing on behalf of our clients; and 4) acting as a resource for the firm's client teams. The ID will gather, analyze, and disseminate information regarding all aspects of Diversifiers hedge fund investments, strategies, and managers, and in this role, the ID should possess expertise in hedge funds, with an understanding of Diversifying hedge funds.

This opportunity is open to London and all US offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Focus on Diversifying strategies.

Lead relationships with and act as a primary point of contact for Diversifying hedge fund managers. Lead meetings and manage workflow of information to the team and other investment directors, investment associates, and investment analysts.

Identify and conduct due diligence on Diversifiers hedge fund managers that best meet the needs, performance objectives, and risk tolerance of the firm's clients. Analyze fund's organization, investment strategy, performance, terms, current portfolio positions, and other key attributes. Lead in-person meetings, often onsite, and conduct reference calls with industry participants. In collaboration with colleagues, develop house opinion on manager.

Actively monitor and evaluate Diversifying hedge fund managers on an ongoing basis; attend annual meetings.

Attend and represent the firm at industry conferences when appropriate.

Complete written research used by clients and colleagues to support investment decisions. This includes concise commentaries summarizing meetings with fund managers, in-depth due diligence reports, and other periodic research pieces.

Serve as the firm's expert on Diversifying hedge fund. Engage proactively and regularly with colleagues to pitch relevant hedge fund investment opportunities, offering suggestions for managers that would complement existing exposures. Represent the full work of the team in these conversations, even managers not on your "book".

Collaborate with the team's investment directors in other geographies and with the firm's Capital Markets Research group to evaluate relevant market trends across regions and strategies and disseminate findings to colleagues and clients. Author or co-author periodic thematic research reports on relevant topics.

Delegate and coordinate analyses and other work with members on the Diversifiers team. Manage the Diversifiers team.

Present at a variety of internal meetings, investment research committee meetings, and marketing presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS

BA/BS required. MBA and / or CFA strongly preferred.

5 (ID) or 8 (SD) years of investment experience, preferably in Hedge Fund research. Deep level of expertise in Diversifying hedge fund strategies.

Strong manager relationship skills, including the ability to develop new relationships, and to reinforce existing relationships

Prior experience conducting fund due diligence; with references able to attest to judgment.

Outstanding presentation skills.

Demonstrated analytical skills; strong written and oral communication skills. Experience in negotiations.

Ability to drive the project management process, providing clear direction and managing deadlines, workflow, and quality control for projects.

Strong attention to detail and ability to think independently and work with a team.

Willingness to travel up to 25% time.
