We are currently seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Technician to join our team. We specialize in creating adhesive bonded fastening to bear on the technical challenges of the marine, energy, and other industrial sectors. This role contributes to operations by aiding in the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of facilities infrastructure, production equipment, and IT systems. It holds significant importance in the company's comprehensive implementation of a campus-wide SCADA system and helping minimize downtime.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specify, install, configure, calibrate, and maintain process control system elements.
  • Collaborate individually or in teams to install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, applying technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
  • Program and set up Inductive Automations Ignition SCADA platform.
  • Develop PLC programs.
  • Create/modify HMI programs.
  • Install, set up, and resolve issues with VFDs.
  • Calibrate and repair instruments and related equipment.
  • Analyze intricate electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and rectify issues.
  • Research and engage with software tools like CMMS, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Explorer.
  • Configure and install network components.
  • Deploy and service sensor technology for PdM and OEE data acquisition.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on test apparatus and peripheral devices.
  • Document and convey data, elucidating test results for engineering decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Effective team and independent worker, creating progress updates, procedures, and records.
  • Perform tasks from instructions, diagrams, visual aids, and memory recall.
  • Handle tasks uninterrupted for up to 4 hours.
  • Evaluate, estimate time, and complete assignments punctually.
  • Research vendors, recommend replacement parts, and compose purchase requests.
  • HMI and PLC programming expertise (Mitsubishi preferred).
  • Proficient in SCADA systems, particularly Ignition SCADA platform.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting electrical and control systems.
  • Familiarity with IIOT principles.
  • Experience in installing and calibrating process control elements and electrical measurement devices.

EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma or GED, with a preferred Technical Degree in Electrical/Electronics or Instrumentation.
  • Over 5 years of instrumentation and controls experience.
