STScI seeks a Senior Project Scheduler to join our Program Management Office.

This role is critical to the production and delivery of the Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for the James Webb Space Telescope, and the IMS and Earned Value reports for the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in project scheduling using Microsoft Project, use of Deltek Cobra software, and a strong background in Earned Value and government reporting.

The Senior Project Scheduler will develop, maintain, and update Microsoft project schedules for complex software development projects, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. The candidate will also generate and analyze standard earned value reports each monthly financial period using Deltek Cobra software.

This position can support hybrid work. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to our local market. (MD, DE, VA, PA, DC & WV).

Candidates must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident to meet ITAR requirements.

Requirements:

  • Three years of recent experience using Microsoft Project on medium to large projects.
  • Three years of experience with Deltek Cobra software and Integrated Program Management Reports. (Deltek Cobra experience required.)
  • Minimum of five years of experience in project scheduling, with a focus on the industrial or software development industry.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and processes.
  • Extensive experience in project scheduling using Microsoft Project software.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical Field (e.g. Engineering, Program Management)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar project management certification.
  • Experience with earned value management (EVM) principles and practices including Earned Value validation requirements.
  • Familiarity with Empower Software (Encore Analytics), Acumen (Deltek) or other project management software tools.
