Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated career and customer-oriented Digital Engineering Specialist II in Glen Burnie, MD. Please note that while this position is in Glen Burnie, the ideal candidate can sit in any ManTech approved facility within the Washington DMV area.

The Digital Engineering Specialist's primary function is designing and developing plans, processes, procedures, functional and data requirements analysis, system analysis, and documentation preparation for Digital Engineering Environments (DEE) systems. Areas of specialization include digital engineering software and technologies, as well as user experience design (UXD), Service Design, trade-off analysis of various vendors' engineering software applications, and making recommendations on the best software products, digital technologies, and engineering operations to propose the best DEE architectures for NSIN and its mission partners. The Digital Engineering Specialist II takes direction from more senior personnel.

Performance shall include:

  • Provide guidance to less experienced engineers on adopting the DEE to increase productivity and operational efficiencies.
  • Possess working knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the roles and responsibilities of the various disciplines, their functions, and key activities associated with the processes.
  • Solid understanding of engineering processes, plans, and operations and can translate them into desired outcomes for any digital engineering environments and digital technologies that augment engineers.
  • Will learn and apply new digital technologies, such as virtual reality or augmented reality (AR/VR), immersive simulation environments, high performance computing (HPC), or Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) technologies, as they relate to performing engineering design development, maintenance, or disposal activities.


Required Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computational Engineering, Model-Based Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline and 4 or more years of experience.
  • 2 or more years of relevant experience leading digital transformation or business transformation projects.
  • Experience with SysML and Engineering software tools like Cameo Enterprise Architect, Engineering Simulation software like ANSYS, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), or Computer Aided Technologies (CAx) for engineering disciplines.
  • A High School Diploma and 8 years of experience or an Associates and 6 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a Degree.
  • A candidate holding a relevant Master's degree may be granted 2 years' experience credit for that extra education. A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years' experience credit for that extra education.


Desired Education and Experience:
  • OCSMP SysML Certifications.
  • INCOSE Certifications.


Security Clearance:
  • Current Secret Clearance


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
