The Purchasing Buyer will work effectively in a complex, high-pressure Government procurement environment supporting DCS Operations and clients.
**Essential Job Functions:**
Issue requests for proposals to vendors, conduct competitive bids, document source selections for every direct/indirect purchase for Micro Purchases and in excess of the company Micro Purchase threshold.
Assemble the necessary supporting documentation (procurement summaries, determination of commerciality, vendor bid matrices, certifications and representations) so that DCS Corporation complies with the requirements of the United States Government (CPSR) compliance and acquisition rules.
Be capable of handling multiple procurements from a variety of clients in an expeditious manner.
Maintain a client focus and assure each procurement satisfies the needs of the requisitioner, lending assistance and guidance as necessary.
Assist the Director of Procurement in special assignments as assigned.
**Required Skills:**
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
High School Diploma/GED plus 10 years of years of experience in a buyer capacity in a Government procurement or related field.
Progressive experience in Government contracting or procurement with demonstrated success in interpreting and complying with the FAR, DFARS and other U. S. Government procurement regulations, and the development, negotiation and administration of high-dollar purchase orders.
**Desired Skills:**
Prepare purchase order in response to requisitions in accordance with DCS Corporation Procurement policies and US Government laws and regulations in order to preserve the DCMA-approved Purchasing System status of DCS.
