Summary: This is a hardworking, family run business located in Ventura, CA that operates on a basic principle: Hard work, honesty and quality service create loyal customers. We install and service manual and automatic pedestrian doors throughout Southern California for Grocery Stores, Hospitals, Commercial Properties, Government Facilities and Private Estates. In addition to manual doors and automated entrances, we also install and service panic hardware, electric locks, ICU doors, ADA/Handicap doors, keypads, maglocks, manual door hardware such as hinges and closers, etc. A large part of our work consists of access control integration. We do glass and glazing as well. Service techs and installers are frequently required to start work at odd hours and are subject to short notice mandatory overtime. We are a 24 hour service company. This is not a 9 to 5 job. The schedule changes on a day to day basis and techs don t always get back home by 5pm. We perform priority service at sensitive locations, so if they call at the end of the day, we have to respond. Techs are also part of an on call rotation (about once a month, after training period). We have some long days, but we also have some short days and periods of down time throughout the year, so we cannot always guarantee a 40 hour week. Pay will depend on prior experience and ability. Primary Responsibilities: We are currently searching for a Field Service Technician with a strong electro-mechanical background who has the following characteristics: Ability to work safely and apply best practices Ability to operate basic manual and power tools (must have your own basic hand tools) Ability to communicate effectively and write legibly Ability to safely lift and transport at least 100 pounds (door panels) for short distances Clean Driving Record (determined by our insurance carrier) NO RECENT DUI Must pass a Criminal Background screening (you will be investigated for federal clearances) Knowledge of basic electronics/electrical theory Problem Solving/Troubleshooting Skills Ability to handle stressful situations and deal with customers in a professional and courteous manner Ability to work on your own and as part of a team Previous experience with glazing, glass storefront and/or construction is a benefit Must be able to answer emergency on call rotation including nights and weekends. The basic hand tools you must have are: Multi meter, square, tape measure, torpedo level, flat and rat tail files, wire cutters/strippers, hex wrenches, utility knife, t20 torx driver, 10 mm nut driver, #1, #2 & #3 screw drivers, carpenter s hammer, dead blow hammer, side cutters, crescent wrench, precision screw drivers, flat bar, pliers, box end wrenches, vise grips.
