IP Legal Practice Assistant


Job Details

Frost Brown Todd LLP, a national law firm of 1000+ legal and business professionals in sixteen markets, is currently seeking an IP Legal Practice Assistant to join our firm. This individual will be assigned to support multiple legal professionals within our Intellectual Property Practice Group.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, proofreading, preparing revisions, and redlining documents as directed.
  • Coordinating complex document preparation, including printing, scanning, copying, and faxing.
  • Maintaining and updating calendars for assigned attorneys, coordinating travel, and scheduling meetings.
  • Processing expense reimbursements and coordinating client billing with accounting department.
  • Assisting in the preparation and submission of electronic time records for timekeepers.
  • Executing the electronic filing of trademark applications.
  • Preparing and updating report for clients using the CPI software program.
  • Preparing and filing assignments, mergers, and other similar documents, including security interests and releases for state, US and foreign registrations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of legal practice assistant experience.
  • Intellectual property experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize time-sensitive projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to carry out instructions.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and basic knowledge of Excel required. Knowledge of Microsoft Teams would be a plus.
  • Must be team-oriented, with the ability to work and communicate effectively and professionally with clients and Firm personnel.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.

The pay range for this role accounts for the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. For applicants physically based in California, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $40.00 $50.00 hourly. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, relevant experience and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable employment laws.
