Position Summary

This position is similar to that of a Waitstaff. Responsible for the functions of the diet office and hospitality services which includes the organization and input of patient/resident menus to ensure accuracy of diet orders, timeliness of meal delivery and facilitates interdepartmental coordination.

Location: Newark Wayne Community Hospital

Department: Food & Nutrition Services

Schedule: Day/Eve- Rotating weekends and holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Acts as a Liaison between Food Services and all other departments with respect to patient meals and diets.
• Delivery of meals and nourishments according to established patient identification policies and procedures.
• Assist with all activities related to meal services.
• Knowledge of fluid restrictions, tube feeding, diet orders and standards for restricted diets.
• Ability to transfer medical record information into menu software to ensure diet, allergies and modifiers are processed accurately.

Desired Attributes:

• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
