Position details

Job Summary

The Media Assistant will work with the staff of the Center for STEM+eXcellence during their Summer program schedule to create web content, videos, social media posts, and in-program products. The candidate will work with the program manager, media manager, and STEMP+X program educators to identify needs and produce deliverables for current and future use.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities may involve performing analytical tasks and/or developing comprehensive media products. The media assistant may conduct a significant amount of office or field work, aid in the analysis of research and editing or writing, and create and implement special projects and initiatives. This position will require a high level of contact with internal and external customers. A substantial level of teamwork is expected. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

May support all Center for STEM+eXcellence staff during programs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a current MSU student
  • Must maintain satisfactory academic progress
  • Must have or be able to successfully complete a significant amount training/certification
  • Must have a high level of technology skills
  • Must have a high level of knowledge of the operations and policies of the unit or department
  • Must possess independent judgment, discretion and decision-making skills
  • Must have a proven track record of meeting deadlines and working under pressure
  • Must be able to handle stress as well as to react quickly in emergency situations


Additional Desirable Qualifications

STEM-X major of study.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand for long periods and lift 25 pounds
