Job Description

About the Role

Under the supervision of the Retail Operations Manager, the E-Commerce Fulfillment Clerk processes and fulfills webstore, wholesale, and in-store orders for shipping while keeping organized records for all shipments and customer correspondence. Works with Retail Business Development Manager to keep ecommerce information accurate to guarantee customer satisfaction upon delivery. S/he/they will demonstrate a background of working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, geographic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, using a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible approach.

Essential Duties

  • Picks products for orders from store or backstock, carefully packages merchandise, weighs, labels, and transports orders to destinations for timely shipping within 24-48 hours


  • Provides excellent customer service. Responds to all inquiries regarding the webstore and in-store pick-up orders.


  • Maintains shipping supplies inventory and initiates supply requests in a timely fashion, anticipating periods of elevated sales orders.


  • Keeps accurate and up-to-date files on customer sales.


  • Notifies management when assistance is needed during periods of increased order volume.


  • Regularly assists receiving team members to keep inventory deliveries flowing through the receiving process. This includes unpacking deliveries, verifying counts, inspecting, and reporting damages/discrepancies, and stickering new, incoming store inventory.


  • On occasion, this role helps with moving products from one location to another for special merchandising displays including store related events.


Candidate Requirements and Experience

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with Shopify preferred.
  • Must have ability to work with consistent accuracy even when business requires work to be performed at a quickened pace.
  • Must be capable of organizing files and work area.
  • Exceptional customer service; handling heavy customer traffic while remaining accurate, tactful, and courteous.
  • Physical strength and mobility necessary to pack orders, lift and carry heavy (40 lbs. or more) boxes and other objects on occasion. Able to operate equipment in a safe manner including, but not limited to, hand trucks, utility carts, and step ladders.
