How youll make an impact:

As a key member of the National Repeater Control Center (NRCC), you will monitor and operate a national broadcast network including collaboration with engineering and maintenance contractors pursuant to remedying operational issues.

What youll do:

  • Responsible for monitoring, triage, and incident management of RF equipment, to include support for incoming calls, troubleshooting, coordination with vendors, and tracking of maintenance activity.
  • Ensure timely/accurate documentation and escalation of network trouble tickets.
  • Take the lead role in the generation, quality control and distribution of daily reports.
  • Ensure that corrective actions and technical solutions are implemented in a timely fashion to restore network performance. This includes reacting to emergencies and making decisions within approved guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for the network and its operational health.
  • Assist with the development and update of operation center procedures.
  • Provide leadership for the activities of the shift.
  • Assist with the development and update of repeater op center procedures
  • Participate in tests and simulations, troubleshoot and solve problems, and monitor and verify the entire repeater network.
  • Routinely utilize Windows operating system, Microsoft Office, Elastic, AWS coding/ functions, and network systems hardware.

What youll need:

  • Associate's Degree in electronics or equivalent related degree, military training, or experience
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: communications network operations, computer network management systems, trouble management systems, and transmitter systems maintenance.
  • Experience in RF systems operations, troubleshooting, and anomaly resolution.
  • Must be able to support a 24-hour/7-day facility; able to work holidays, weekends, and occasional overtime
  • Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including spelling, grammar, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Elastic, OpenSource, AWS coding/functions is preferred.
  • This position requires the use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As required by ITAR, to perform this position you must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
