Business Manager

The Business Manager is responsible for providing financial management, budgeting and procurement for assigned portfolio. Serves as an advisor on all administrative matters.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Identifies existing and emerging administrative issues and advises senior management on resolution strategies.

* Initiates, maintains and fosters productive working relationships to facilitate and improve communication inside and between departments.

* Advises and updates management and staff on significant administrative developments and MBN corporate policies.

* Anticipates and meets informational needs of senior management on key issues.

* Provides analysis that is both detail-oriented and has a strategic, corporate focus.

* Monitors costs and expenditures monthly to ensure financial plan goals are met and limits are maintained.

* Reviews and processes procurement action for assigned portfolio.

* Develops budget projections for review and approval by MBN administration.

* Monitors department contracts.

* Drafts proposals, policies, statements of work and other administrative documents.

Other Duties:

* The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties and take on other responsibilities as dictated by events and circumstances.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

* BA/BS in accounting, finance, business, or related field.

* 5-10 years progressively responsible work experience in a business environment.

* Proficiency with accounting systems as well as ability to work with presentation, database, and spreadsheet software.

* Knowledge of budgeting techniques and strong problem solving and analytical skills.

* Strong time management and planning skills and be able to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and assignments with little supervision.
