Contract Status: Active

The Aircraft Workers duties shall include, but are not limited to:

* Ability to make repairs to aircraft following orders of higher grade workers.

* Ability to assist in troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneumatic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation, electrical, and heating systems.

* Remove, clean, reinstall or replace defective parts, accessories, and components such as worn gaskets, couplings, fittings, bad actuators, accumulators, gauges, sections of corroded fuel and oil lines.

* May be required to perform electrical trade functions such as installing or repairing a variety of electrical equipment/systems to include: wire harnesses, circuit breakers, complex connectors, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specification, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system; using a variety of electrician tools, and measuring and testing instruments.

* Supervise/assist the jacking and towing of aircraft, making adjustments and settings such as cable tension and seat movement; obtain standard parts such as fuel and oil line connections and fittings, cable linkage, and harnesses by referring to parts manuals and sample comparisons.

* Ability to perform pre-flight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, including recording maintenance record descriptions of work performed, servicing engines and aircraft components at line station, making appropriate repairs (short of overhaul) required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.

Qualifications:

* One (1) year of documented experience in aviation maintenance as an Aviation Helper or higher.

* Related Associates Degree or Trade Certification

* Three (3) years of experience in similar technical field (i.e., shipboard electrician, electronics mechanic, etc.).

* High school diploma or equivalent (unless higher education is required for a particular job category).

* Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.

* Shall be citizens of the U.S.

* Possess computer skills to include a basic knowledge sufficient to complete internet searches and prepare/edit documents utilizing word processing or spreadsheet applications.

* Obtain and retain all access levels and/or clearances as required by the contract.

Working conditions:

* Aircraft maintenance environment

* In and around aircraft and ground support equipment, maybe subject to loud noises, exhaust fumes, dust, extreme weather conditions

* Must be able to work all shifts as needed, shift times/ work weeks may be altered to meet customer requirements with minimum amount of notification

Physical requirements:

* Must be able to safely move about in aircraft maintenance environment

* Shall be capable of performing tasks that frequently require: lifting, reaching, bending, walking, pulling, sitting, and standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and stretching for prolonged periods of time.

* Shall be capable of performing tasks in cramped, awkward, and strained positions and/or climbing up and down ladders, work platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structures.

* Shall be capable of carrying items up to 40 pounds and on heavier items shall seek assistance of other workers or weight lifting devices.

* Shall be capable of using cumbersome Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) operations.

* Regularly required to talk and/or be able to hear

* Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus
