Introduction:

PALFINGER is searching for an Assembler. We are located in Trenton, NJ. This position reports to the Materials Supervisor.

The Assembler will perform different activities related to assemblies, kitting, inventory, and installation for Cable Roll-Off Hoists, Hooklifts and Container Carriers. In this role some of the main tasks may include assembly of component parts or pieces adhering to a specified set of blueprints or schematics, or picking sheet; responsible for verifying correct quantities of components parts and quality checking completed items; performing tests as required.

Responsibilities:

* Manually selecting/picking semi-finished materials and components (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic) by hand and via the use of a forklift or other moving equipment, to be kitted & assembled by reviewing the kitting or assembly instructions, blueprints specifications, and parts lists. Will gather parts, kits, subassemblies, use tools, and materials prep products.

* Locating parts, kits and subassemblies by using templates, reading measurements and using a measuring tape.

* Uses computer to view diagrams, lookup parts, scan items and work orders.

* Use of overhead crane to move heavy parts.

* Assembling of components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.

* Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.

* Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; letting the lead-assembler know of shortages.

* Uses equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results, reducing waste.

* Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.

* Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results to finish tasks to meet deadlines.

* Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.

* Will be required to move parts from one location to another, as needed. May drive a forklift to move parts.

Qualifications:

* Two years of mechanic, hydraulic and/or electrical experience strongly preferred.

* Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment.

* Demonstrated experience performing basic and routine repetitive mechanical assembly operations using hand tools and mechanical equipment.

* Able to conduct finished product and functional testing.

* Knowledge of set and use of torque wrench.

* Knowledge of low voltage flow and application.

* Ability to perform basic math functions and use a measuring tape.

* Must be able to take initiative, work independently, or within a team.

* Able to work in a fast paced and time sensitive environment.

Physical Requirements:

* Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. as needed.

* Must be able to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding to change ceiling lighting, check electrical equipment, check oil reserves and maintain/repair equipment and systems from elevations.

* Must be able to use hand tools and other repair equipment.

* Ability to work a full shift up to 10 hours in a hot and/or cold industrial manufacturing environment.
