Job description:


  • First shift only.

  • Perform a variety of tasks in support of designing, developing and testing new systems.

  • You will work in a laboratory environment using mechanical skills including soldering, hand instruments to tighten fasteners, and microscopes to inspect small components and assemblies.

  • Process Engineers or other experienced personnel will help train you in key processes and techniques.

  • You will follow written work instructions, work well with teammates, and support personnel from multiple organizations.

  • Technicians sit for extended periods of time.

  • The exact work shift is negotiable, but training will occur during the first shift for several months or until after all initial training has been completed .

  • Minimum 40 hours per week.

  • Must be able to work overtime occasionally during the week or on weekends as required to support customer demands.


Responsibilities To Anticipate:


  • Perform mechanical assembly and soldering as required

  • Utilize a microscope and hand-held instruments like soldering iron, tweezers, screw drivers, and torque wrenches for assemble of products.

  • Transport up to 20lbs and manipulate items while sitting or standing, lifting, walking, and pushing carts throughout facility.

  • Perform repetitive motions that involve tightening screws and other tasks associated with assembly work.

  • Use a computer to access work instructions, time keeping, perform data entry and complete on-line training as required.

  • Wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as: safety glasses, smock, and gloves as needed for assembly on manufacturing/production floor.


Qualifications:


  • Typically Requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

  • Min of 2 years' experience utilizing a microscope and hand-held instruments like soldering iron, tweezers, screw drivers, and torque wrenches for assembly of products Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an engineering environment, reading and creating to engineering prints for mechanical assembly and schematic diagrams for wiring assemblies.

  • Understanding of Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD) and reduction/prevention methods.

  • Experience handling electrostatic discharge (ESD) sensitive items.

  • Previous training and or certifications in soldering, FOD, and ESD protection.

  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) assemblies.

  • Knowledge and experience with aircraft or military quality requirements.

  • Min of 2 years' experience specifically in mechanical assembly and soldering.
