About the RoleThe Donor Relations Manager (DRM) collaborates with the Resource Development Director to develop, plan, implement and evaluate fundraising approaches, including sponsorships and annual giving, to sustain and grow revenue and the donor base. This is achieved in part through planning and executing DBEDC s annual events, stewardship, and other development events, and leading year-round solicitations and campaigns.

The DRM is responsible for development operations, including effective database management and reporting, donor stewardship efforts (e.g., acknowledgements, prep materials for donor meetings). As necessary, the DRM will recruit and supervise volunteers to help with department efforts and events. Paramount to this position is the ability to work independently and juggle various projects at once while maintaining a clear view of how each project supports the organization s mission.

This position requires the ability to work during some evenings, weekends, and early mornings for events. It also requires the ability to travel locally to attend meetings and events.

What you can expect to do in the role :

Collaboration with the Director of Resource Development and the Chief Executive Officer to cultivate, steward, and solicit donors through targeted multi-media appeals, campaigns, and individual face-to-face meetings.

Collaboration with the Director of Resource Development to set, measure, and meet fundraising goals.

Develop and implement solicitation plan that includes fundraising strategies to drive successful giving campaigns.

Collaboration with the Communications Manager to develop fundraising communications strategies and external audiences, including content development for signature events, campaigns, and annual appeals.

Lead planning, project management, and execution for DBEDC s major event, host committees, stewardship events, and other development events.

Coordination of donor stewardship programs (i.e. Columbia Circle, Indigo Sustainers Club).

Secure, identify, and segment prospect and current donor data for appeals and special projects; produce database reports and queries to track campaigns and appeals status and success.

Manage the CITC process, including credit tracking and application processing.

Conduct donor research, identify and prioritize prospective donors.

Serve as an ambassador for the organization and participate in organizational and external events as appropriate.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsYou ll do well in this role if you:

Have a minimum of five years of progressive responsibility in nonprofit fundraising. This is required.

Have a strong knowledge of fundraising best practices and trends.

Have experience leading and managing complex projects and events to completion and within budget.

Can solicit and secure gifts.

Have experience developing mail and digital fundraising campaigns.

Can analyze and apply data to recommendations and plans.

Have a strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Can work independently and as part of a team to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines.

Can demonstrate a proficient level of utilization and management with CRMs, email campaign software, fundraising databases, Google and Microsoft Suite, and ability to learn new technologies.

Demonstrate a high level of collaboration skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to influence the participation and work of internal and external partners at all levels.

Possess strong judgment and humility to seek input, feedback, and assistance when appropriate.

Demonstrate a high level of diplomacy, accountability, customer service, problem-solving skill, and the ability to handle challenges with grace and through open communication.

Can work effectively with ethnically and culturally diverse groups.

It would be additionally phenomenal if you:

Familiarity with the Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC) program or similar programs

Experience developing and implementing a major gifts program and planned giving

Experience with event planning

Experience with Salesforce CRM

Salary range: $78,000 $90,000.
