What You'll Do:
Ohio Department of Public Safety - Director's Office-Fiscal (Asset Management)
Report In Location: 1583 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43209 (Alum Creek Facility)
Work Hours: 7:00 a.m - 3:30 p.m
Maintain extensive agency-wide/statewide inventory such as furniture, equipment or vehicles & develop, implement & enforce policies & procedures on inventory control:
-Acts as lead worker directing work of inventory staff and serves as principal assistant to the Inventory Control Supervisor in the operation & maintenance of the Asset Management System for the control & tracking of fixed assets throughout ODPS;
-Assists in the planning, coordination & distribution of fixed as-sets to ODPS facilities;
-Updates, verifies, & tracks all information on automated Asset Management System; Coordinates with Distribution Services on receipt, storage, issue, shipment, & pickup of fixed assets;
-Coordinates disposal of fixed assets with State Salvage to ensure proper disposal procedures are followed & policies are enforced;
-Coordinates with Ohio State Highway Patrol, Emergency Management Agency, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Emergency Medical Services, & Public Safety Administration on fixed asset requirements, inventory & accountability;
-Monitors & trains in the operation & maintenance of the Asset Management System, ensuring accurate key entry by Asset Management staff;
-Assists Inventory Control Supervisor with the inventory of fixed assets for ODPS;
-Assists in physical inventories which will require some overnight travel, bar coding of assets, maintenance of Asset Management System database, exchange of fixed assets for repair, & preparation of items &/or disposition forms for salvage disposal;
-Operates truck to transport salvage items to State Surplus; Operates warehouse equipment (i.e., forklifts, manual & electric pallet lifts, dock levelers, etc.);
-Verifies receiving documents with procurement documents to ensure all relevant data is available for posting to the Asset Management System & resolving shortcomings;
-Manages business functions of the office to include researching, preparing, & filing inventory reports as requested by management; Maintains office files relating to asset management & inventory control;
-Develops, implements, & enforces policies & procedures pertaining to inventory control, asset management & disposal projects;
-Coordinates reporting requirements with Ohio Department of Administrative Services & Office of Budget & Management;
-Prepares inventory & asset management related correspondence for management signature & distribution;
-Performs other duties as assigned;

Qualifications 9 mos. exp. as Inventory Control Specialist, 64551.
-Or 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in inventory control; 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in electronic data processing related to inventory control; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
