Job Details

All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire. As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen. And submit proof of identity and employment eligibility.

Job Description:

Responsible for evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the various Unified Government Law Enforcement Programs, the adequacy of internal controls and compliance with legal and administrative requirements. Will work in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards. Duties are primarily performed with a great degree of independence. Will issue written reports and review those with the department, Unified Government Management and Commission, Mayor, Law Enforcement Advisory Board and community.

The Law Enforcement Legislative Auditor is a work-in-office position.

The Ideal Candidate:

Has problem solver and project management skills. Experience in law enforcement policies, practices and procedures or related auditing experience. This position is characterized by the auditor's ability to provide fair and objective recommendations. The responsibilities of the auditor require the highest degree of professional independent judgment, personal integrity and accountability.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited four year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position. Experience in program evaluation and auditing. Excellent written, oral communication proficiency, interpersonal and consultative skills. Preference given to applicants with relevant professional certifications. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be a Wyandotte County resident or willing to relocate. Must have valid Kansas Driver's license.

Salary Range:

$32.24-$50.36/hr.
