Description

  1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
  2. Respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  3. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  4. Anticipate guests' needs,
  5. Always maintain positive guest relations.
  6. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  7. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  8. Use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
  9. Adhere to all Health Department, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  10. Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies and equipment; replenish as needed throughout the shift.
  11. Sort all stained/damaged items and determine status for rewash or discard; maintain continuous inventory of discarded items.
  12. Remove all debris on floors after each sorting.
  13. Transport cart to proper work area for finishing.
  14. Operate the ironing and folding machines. Check the cleanliness and condition of articles while processing through the machines; separate damaged/stained articles.
  15. Fold cleaned articles and stack into designated amounts by type and size. Place stacks in specified areas for distribution.
  16. Issue clean table linens and service towels/rags to Food and Beverage personnel.
  17. Report faulty equipment, damaged linens, shortages, maintenance needs, safety hazards and problems to supervisor.
  18. Remove lint and debris from dryer filters and change filters.
  19. Transport trash containers to dumpster; empty and clean accordingly. Adhere to recycling procedures.
  20. Breakdown and clean work areas/equipment.
  21. Re-stock linen carts for Horsepersons.
  22. Fold bedspreads, blankets, bed pads, shower curtains and bathrobes.


Requirements

Desirable:
  1. Previous experience in similar position.
  2. Knowledge of laundry equipment.
  3. Knowledge of finishing techniques for fabrics.

  1. Exert physical effort in transporting up to 75
  2. Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  3. Reach overhead.
  4. Ability to work/stand for prolonged periods of time.
  5. Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and climb continuously.
  6. Ability to perform tasks requiring sustained repetitive motion (i.e. sorting, shaking, pulling, lifting and folding linen).
  7. Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
  8. Ability to see, hear and to call out in an emergency or urgent situation (i.e. mechanical problems).
