We are seeking a Content Editor to join our growing Communications team. The candidate will have expert experience in both print and digital media content editing/writing, be able to present ideas, and will assist in overseeing the written content production process.

Skills/Experience:

  • Expert level proofreading and copy editing required
  • Oversee written content production process and ensure it meets quality standards
  • Ensure deadlines are met
  • Produce error free projects within a short time frame
  • Create, edit, and proofread a wide range of written materials, such as white papers, ads, newsletter content, event signage, flyers, handouts, external emails, website copy (including web page text, hot topics, banners, and web tool verbiage), video scripts, internal and external training documents, PowerPoint slides, and other communication materials
  • Create and manage internal platform content that aligns with the organization's messaging and branding. This includes coordinating with the Communication team's graphics designer for appropriate images and GIFs, collaborating with the Events and Logistics team for event-related posts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with team members and other departments to identify areas for improvement in the workflow, create supporting documentation, and oversee the implementation of the new processes
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to NASA's established guidelines
  • Think critically about workflow and practice, and help identify creative solutions for process improvements
  • Fact checks and verifies information and research
  • Manages and updates internal communication platform sites
  • Contributes new ideas for future publications
  • Be familiar with ADA / Section 508 compliance knowledge and experience preferred
  • Technical writing experience is a bonus
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent writing ability
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and adapt to last-minute changes
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding grammar, spelling, punctuation, and written language skills
  • Experience with Microsoft programs, including Microsoft SharePoint
  • Must provide portfolio/samples of work

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
  • 7+ years of editing/writing experience for a publication or corporation
