Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Control Tech - 2nd Shift. This position is based at our Kearney, NE location. The Control Technician will troubleshoot and repair all production and support equipment and diagnose systems and equipment performance and be responsible for project functions as necessary.They will also support maintenance with electronic /electrical repairs and programing of PLC's and Drives.

The hourly rate for this position is $34.00 per hour. + $0.70 shift premium.

What you'll do:
Modify machine programs for automated systems, robotics, and equipment.
Diagnose and repair, either on your own or as part of a team, issues with electronics, computers, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, robotics, or pneumatic components or systems.
Support line maintenance with electronic/electrical troubleshooting and the repair of motion controls, PLC, VFDs, servo drives, circuit board repair, and power distribution.
Assist with shutdown work, projects, and process and equipment improvements as needed.
Utilize testing equipment including multimeters, hi-pots, and meggers.
Understand and utilize circuit analysis to troubleshoot and make improvements to equipment.
Maintain 5S and housekeeping standards and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years manufacturing work experience
Experience in controls related fields or specialized training.
High School Diploma or GED for an accredited institution
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in Electrical Technology or Mechatronics

Skills:
Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate within a production environment
Proven ability to diagnosis and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, & pneumatic systems
Proven ability to work on motor controls, AC drives, Servo Drives, & PLCs
Knowledge and ability to follow NEC Rules
Strong ability to read blueprints and schematics
Knowledge in NEC and safe working procedures
Strong Communication skills
Self-motivated and/or self-directed
Strong knowledge of computer systems and computer hardware
Strong knowledge of Motor Controls, AC drives, Servo drives, and PLC's
