SUMMARY:
As a Warehouse Lift Driver, you are the powerhouse of our warehouse, regularly operating a lift to move materials around a warehouse, storage area, Receiving, stocking/storing, and distributing material, tools, equipment, and products within Walker Furniture in accordance with company policy and procedures, you'll play a crucial role in our operations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regularly operates lift (cherry picker) to lift, stack, stock, or move furnishings/products/merchandise, equipment, or materials.
Reads schedules, orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed or staged for further handling.
- Maintain records associated with operating a forklift.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory and merchandise records.
- Sort and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- May be required to assist with shipping, receiving, loading or unloading trucks.
- Required to assist with warehouse organization to always maintain safety and orderliness.
- Must wear all the required safety equipment.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:Lift Operator certification. (We perform in house certification)
Ability to perform work independently or as a team to successfully complete the duties of the job.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals with attention to detail.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move heavy weight items more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
