The mission of the Housing Authority of the City of Aurora (AHA) is to develop and promote quality housing while supporting and encouraging economic opportunities leading to self-sufficiency and independence. AHA accomplishes this mission by providing affordable or subsidized housing at 9 different properties, administering approximately 1200 vouchers (HCV, FUP and VASH) and offering 2 homeless programs with case management.

Job Description

Supports Property Management operations by completing the following administrative tasks:

  1. Processes work orders. Responsible for follow-up with maintenance staff and vendors to ensure completion and close-out of work orders and files.
  2. Supports lease renewals and re-certifications as requested. Provides information and responds to questions from tenants and maintenance staff.
  3. Prepares correspondence and processes incoming and outgoing mail.
  4. Supports rent payment process, including scanning rent documents and issuing delinquency notices.
  5. Assists Portofolio Managers with preparation, tracking, and filing of resident paperwork.
  6. Completes daily log for supervisor that includes information on new and ongoing work.
  7. Contributes to a welcoming and respectful environment for tenants and colleagues through providing quality customer service.
  8. Opens and closes offices. Answers phones/emails. Faxes, scans, and copies documentation, Tour properties with potential tenants.
  9. Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Is comfortable using Microsoft Excel and Word

Is reliable, organized, and able to work accurately and quickly with important documentation

Demonstrates excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Possesses a positive attitude and cultural sensitivity in working with customers and coworkers of all ages and backgrounds

Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and public

Valid Colorado Driver License and Motor Vehicle Insurance required

Solid knowledge of office equipment maintenance and operation

Up to (3) months on-the-job training to perform the job effectively

Equipment Utilized

Equipment requiring involved set up, adjustments and operational procedures (e.g. word processing equipment, personal computer, scanners, letter folding machine, and digital copier/printer)

Standard office software (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access)
