Shipping & Receiving - Warehouse Worker

The distribution center warehouse worker position is required to perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse with a strong focus on safety. The goal of this position is to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Receiving**

1. Unload company trucks and commercial trucks

2. Count and verify that correct products and number of pieces are received and signed for

3. Check in merchandise into inventory/stock in the computer system

4. Rotate stock

5. Check merchandise for quality; setting aside any damaged goods for processing

6. Check purchase orders for open orders

7. Check in UPS and RPS shipments

8. Deliver packages to individuals or departments

9. Write up receiving paperwork

10. Notify Warehouse Manager or Purchasing Department of errors and damaged goods

11. Move plywood to proper storage area

**Shipping and Export**

1. Pull, stage and pack orders

2. Weigh pallets/orders

3. Load trucks using hand-truck and / or forklift

**Packing Table**

1. Pull, stage and pack orders

2. Weigh packages and print shipping label on UPS machine

3. Shred paper for packing

4. Assemble boxes

**Inventory**

1. Input all merchandise into the computer system from info on Receiving paperwork

2. Make cycle counts

3. Pull, pack, and ship back-orders and special-orders

4. Check branch re-orders

5. Keep shelves properly marked

6. Preparation of inventory and tabulating final numbers

7. Maintain warehouse cleanliness and orderliness

**Required** **QUALIFICATIONS**

1. Minimum of a high school education or GED

2. Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math

3. Ability to work in a face paced environment

**Preferred**

1. Certified forklift truck operator
