Position Title: **Laundry Attendant*** Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times.
* Receive soiled linens by bag, cart or chute from the floors.
* Sort articles by kind, color, and degree of soil.
* Inspect all laundry and linens and record all damaged or stained items.
* Know how to operate the washers and dryers properly by ensuring they are on the proper cycles for the type of linen or terry being washed or dried.
* Pre-spot stained linen and terry before re-washing.
* Load linen in washer. When complete, unload washer and load it into dryers
* Maintain productivity standards.
* Remove linen immediately from dryers and fold to prevent wrinkles.
* Fold linen according to proper standards. Adhere to no iron laundry procedures.
* Place folded linen on marked shelves and transport to floor linen rooms in a timely fashion.
* Maintain a well organized, neat laundry room.
* Check washing machine drains to prevent clogging.
* Complete maintenance form when needed. Inform management of any malfunctions or problems immediately.
* Damp mop laundry floor on a daily basis.
* Clean lint traps after each load.
* Wipe down all machines daily and maintain all equipment per manufacturers specified procedures, e.g. remove lint from dryers as needed.
* Empty and turn off all machines at completion of shift.
* Respond to guest requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies (e.g. linens, cots, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner.
* The ability to communicate with our guests in English is necessary to give them the service level expected.
* Wear proper uniform at all times in accordance with the Standards of Appearance.
* Be able to lift and carry 40 pounds; push and pull 80 pounds.
* Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
* Practice safety standards at all times and be alert to hazardous conditions. Report or correct any hazardous conditions immediately.
* Must be thoroughly familiar with Associate Handbook. Associate must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company, including, but not limited to, those contained in the Associate Handbook.
* Other duties as assigned, of which the associate is capable of performing.
