Job Location: Contra Costa County, CA; Various East Bay Area, CA locations. Requires on-site work in residences and facilities and remote collaboration with team members.
Job Schedule: Part-time to Full-time
Reports to: Hummingbird Project Manager

Sage Eldercare Solutions invites you to join our team as an Activities Specialist. Our referral-based program, The Hummingbird Project, seeks to enrich the lives of older adults through personalized, one-on-one connections. Ideal candidates include those with experience as activity directors, recreation therapists, teaching artists, or creative arts therapists.

What We Want:
We seek an Activity Specialist to develop and implement therapeutic activities that improve the quality of life for our clients. This role is perfect for individuals with a background in art, drama, music, expressive arts, or recreation therapy and a deep commitment to working with the elderly.

What Youll Do:

  • Design and execute various therapeutic activities tailored to individual client needs, enhancing their quality of life.
  • Plan and lead one-on-one sessions with clients in their residences and conduct group programs in facilities.
  • Organize and facilitate art-based group activities in assisted living facilities.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients and care providers, supplying materials and support for life enrichment activities.

Who You Are:

  • A bachelors degree is required; a masters degree or significant experience in art, drama, music, expressive arts, or recreation therapy is preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of experience working with older adults, including those with cognitive changes and dementia.
  • Empathetic and compassionate with a creative approach to developing individualized activity plans.
  • Proficient in holistic quality of life, life enrichment, and engagement practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and comfort a diverse range of individuals.
  • Excellent written communication skills and time management abilities.
  • Experienced with G-Suite and video communication platforms like Zoom, FaceTime, and Google Hangouts.
  • A valid California drivers license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation are required.

Compensation: This is an hourly-based position with an anticipated hourly rate of $36.00$43.00. Offered compensation will be determined based on education and experience.
