THE OPPORTUNITY

The Regional Human Resources Manager US Operations is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Human Resources department and its associated programs the region. This position is accountable for working directly with leaders to proactively address the current and future needs of the business with an objective of increasing overall organizational capability and effectiveness. Primary deliverables include providing counsel and advice to managers and guidance to individual employees; developing and delivering all related programs applicable to the region and driving initiatives to ensure compliance. The position also serves as a change agent and liaison between management and employee groups.

This position is located at our US corporate office in Montebello, CA and will travel as required to US branch locations.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Builds and fosters ongoing relationships to effectively partner with the business and key stakeholders to coach and influence business decisions.
  • Partners with managers and senior leaders to implement effective HR policies and practices that will support the strategic growth of the business.
  • Provides advice, coaching and leadership on all human resources matters.
  • Performs risk assessments and preventative strategies to reduce the organization s exposure to legal and other employment risks.
  • Acts as a resource person in the interpretation of employment law, legal contracts and policies relating to all aspects of human resources management.
  • Works with managers to investigate and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Provides labor relations support including collective agreement interpretation and handling of grievances.
  • Initiates and manages the consistent implementation of various initiatives involving staffing, individual and team performance, organization design, employee and labor relations, and leadership development.
  • Facilitates talent reviews to assess potential talent and employee readiness in the region.
  • Assesses current training programs and makes recommendations on developing programs, including leadership development, professional development, and performance management.
  • Maintains high visibility at all locations in order to promote HR programs and assists management with effective line communication.
  • Serves as a resource for all employees to discuss all human resource related issues.
  • Maintains knowledge of California and regional labor laws, ensures risks are identified and addressed and regularly provides updates and direction to managers and regional leaders to address risks and concerns.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
  • Bachelor's Degree in a field such as Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7+ years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist with broad-based HR knowledge in performance management, employee relations, compliance and employee development.
  • CalSHRM and SHRM designation preferred.
  • Track record on establishing relationships with all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively as well as adapt to quickly evolving environment.
  • Strong background in performance management and demonstrated coaching expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations practices, law & regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of California labor law required.
  • Proven experience in employee investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, interpersonal.
SALARY

The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $125,000 annually.
