Scope of Work - Mail & Warehouse Worker Services provided by Temp Agency will consist of the following steps: 1. Recruiting candidates. 2. Screening candidates for minimum qualifications. 3. Personal interviews. 4. Recommendation of at least five candidates to VTA. 5. Reference checks for all recommended candidates. 6. Placement of the selected candidate. Minimum Qualifications: Sufficient training, education, and experience to demonstrate possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Development of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is typically obtained through a combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) years of experience as a storekeeper, stock clerk, or materials handler in a warehouse environment. Computerized inventory control/management experience is desirable. Possession of a valid California driver's license is required. The selected candidate for this position will be responsible for: Receiving, unloading, and inspect all shipments of materials, supplies, and equipment, stores in proper location; Verifies contents of materials received and conformance to purchase order specifications, notes any discrepancies; Inspecting incoming materials for damage, wear or defect; prepares appropriate paperwork when products cannot be received due to damage or non-conformance to purchase order specifications; Preparing items for shipment and corresponding shipping notices; Ordering and preparing requisitions for supplies and equipment; Performing a variety of tasks regarding purchase orders in SAP or other materials management system (e.g. reverse orders, determine purchase order numbers, etc.); Maintaining files on frequently ordered items including amount, cost, and source of product information; Maintaining records on the consumption of supplies, managing inventory levels using SAP or other materials management system; Conducting periodic physical inventory count using manual and computer generated files and reconciles discrepancies; Processing, filling, and checking supply requests and directs their delivery; Charging disbursement of goods to their proper account in SAP; Controlling and maintaining records of storeroom transactions; Maintaining, acquiring, storing, issues and keeping accurate inventory of forms, Mailing supplies, and office materials for various departments; Preparing various physical inventory reports; Acts as a liaison with various VTA departments, vendors, customers and others as needed; Regularly interacts with Accounts Payable regarding shipments and invoices; Assists in arranging the collection and salvage of property pertaining to the surplus property disposal program; Collects, receives, and ships recyclable products as needed; maintains recycled product inventory; Coordinates toner and ink cartridge shipments for recycling program; Reviews and notifies various VTA departments of record retention disposal dates; Maintains a secure, caged, locked area and accurate inventory for sensitive documents and materials; ensures lock-up of gates and doors to maintain a safe and secure area; Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition; Safely operates material lifting and other equipment/vehicles; Collects, opens, and sorts mail and interdepartmental correspondence or other material from VTA facilities and other locations; Drives a vehicle or pushes a cart on an established route or as directed to deliver and pick up mail, records, supplies, and other materials; Processes outgoing mail, including sorting, weighing, and affixing proper postage using a postage meter; Operates specialized mail handling equipment; Signs for and maintains records of certified, registered, express mail and other forms of incoming or outgoing mail or packages; Performs related duties as required.
