WORKPLACE DESCRIPTION

The Clearing's workplace change management practice ranges from current space renovations to large construction projects. We help our clients navigate the entire lifecycle of workplace change from idea to implementation, focusing on the human element to achieve a successful transition into the future workspace. The Clearing manages the social complexity of bringing teams and organizations through workplace changes, partnering closely with leaders, end users, project planners, architects, designers, and vendors from the outset.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Principal/Workplace Account Manager's primary role is to (a) lead the established Workplace team, (b) drive top-line account growth in alignment with enterprise goals, (c) identify ways to increase our impact within agencies and organizations, (d) ensure customer satisfaction and experience, and (e) ensure a positive team culture, experience, and connection across the account portfolio. The Principal/Workplace Account Manager works directly with the Culture Solution Designer to achieve its growth and development goals.

Candidates who are local to the DMV area are preferred.

Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work with Culture Solution Designer on business development activities in the workplace market
  • Continue to refine the value proposition of the team/company in the market, which includes the existing solutions as well as developing new solutions according to market demand
  • Own client satisfaction and serve as an elevation/escalation point for clients at the account
  • Responsible for fiscal and programmatic oversight of the Workplace Account, enabling and ensuring the successful management of financial and programmatic aspects of project lanes/projects, including time tracking/reporting, expense reporting, invoicing, task planning, and status reporting
  • Own responsibility for the development of our people in the work, including consideration for team member utilization, team account planning/strategy, and individuals' growth across the account
  • Reinforce and promote the goals and measures associated with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts
  • Meet annual performance targets
  • Contribute to the development of long-term and short-term project plans
  • Design and manage the production of high-quality client deliverables
  • Design, facilitate, and manage client meetings to achieve identified, desired outcomes successfully
  • Engage with clients and successfully advise in one-on-one conversations
  • Oversee financial tracking/reporting, including expense reporting, invoicing, task planning, and status reporting
  • Conduct research and quantitative and qualitative data analysis in support of client projects and meetings; Present research findings (e.g., Excel charts, PowerPoint presentations) and support the production of major client deliverables

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • 8 + years of relevant work experience (workplace strategy, workplace change management)
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in a relevant field (business, management, etc.) preferred
  • Solid understanding of commercial and government contracting
  • Proficient financial acumen in relation to a professional services firm
  • Proficiency in developing pricing strategies that enable profitable growth
  • Experience managing and/or leading medium-sized teams
  • Proven track record of account management and growth in the consulting industry (or professional services industry)
  • Proven experience in change management, organizational development, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of change management principles, methodologies, and best practices
  • Successful project management experience of end-to-end full-time projects and/or multiple part-time projects, from scoping tasks and managing resources to completing such tasks on time, within budget, and to specifications
  • Experienced in building client relationships, providing advice and recommendations to clients (both individual and teams)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to easily communicate ideas and findings; Ability to synthesize and succinctly articulate research findings
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites in the surrounding DC and Baltimore metro areas; occasional travel outside of these regions could be expected
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance; current government suitability/clearance is preferred

While performing duties of this job, an employee may be required to perform any, or all of the following: Attend meetings in and out of the office, travel (sometimes extensively); Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand; Communicate effectively (both orally and in writing); Ability to effectively use computers and other electronic and standard office equipment; Occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work is primarily sedentary and involves sitting for several hours at a time. Occasionally walking, climbing stairs, and standing occur in this role. Additionally, this job requires certain mental demands, including the ability to use judgment, withstand moderate amounts of stress and maintain attention to detail.
