Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse at Inova L.J. Children's Hospital/ Fairfax Hospital. PICU experience preferred. Schedule: Full Time rotating or night shift.
Our nationally recognized, 226-bed Inova Children's Hospital houses comprehensive medical services and specialists who focus on the unique treatment of younger patients. Inova Children's Hospital is an award-winning, full-service children's hospital devoted to the healthcare of infants, children, and adolescents in the Northern Virginia area.
Department Specific Information
The PICU at Inova Children's Hospital is the only one of its kind in Northern Virginia. Our multi-specialty level I unit provides advanced technology and intensive care for critically ill and injured patients from birth to age 21. The unit has earned recognition for the care given to our region's most fragile children, including the AACCN Beacon Silver Award for Pediatric Critical Care Excellence 2016 - 2019.
Full time 3 x12-hour shifts/week; nights or rotating shifts
Candidates are eligible to receive up to $20,000 as a competitive sign on bonus. Those relocating from more than 50 miles away will also receive relocation assistance.
Requirements:
- A minimum of one-year Registered Nurse clinical experience in a Critical Care setting or completion of a Critical Care fellowship. 1-2 years of Pediatric ICU experience strongly preferred.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required. PALS within first 90-days
- RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
- Education - BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN)- must complete BSN within 24 months of start date. - Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others.
- Proficient computer skills
